Junior Developer (Fullstack)

Job Description

Reporting to the Development Manager, the Developer, Junior will work as part of the project team to deliver new features and system improvements for the eCommerce site. This role will be responsible for developing components for the online site written in C#/ASP.NET.

•Successful delivery of project tasks based on scope and timelines
•Availability and stability of systems
•Ensure that best practices for maintainability, accessibility, and performance are maintained
•Build and maintain relationships with related IT contacts
•Development of solutions to meet project requirements
•Review and provide feedback on technical requirements
•Review test cases generated by QA for correctness and coverage
•Support the deployment of developed solutions to each of the different environments
•Documenting of the developed systems and applications
•Development of unit tests to automatically test developed source code
•Provide status updates on progress to the lead developer and/or Development Manager
•Provide bug fixes to issues identified by the QA team
•Adhere to established Development and QA practices
•Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
•Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
•Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for customers
•Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Must Have Skills:

Work Experience / Education / Certifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related program
•1+ years of development experience, previous eCommerce experience desired

Competencies / Skills / Attributes
•A passion for software development and desire to solve problems
•Strong knowledge of .NET, C# and/or ASP.NET for web development
•Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Transact-SQL
•Experience with WCF, Windows Workflow and MVC is an asset
•Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
•Understanding of the software development life cycle
•Strong communication skills
